KAUST hosted the Times Higher Education Global Sustainable Development Congress in May 2023 and our TKS students played an active role in greeting and checking-in the 1600+ guests from 67 countries, supporting lab and research center tours, ensuring everyone got to the sessions they wanted to attend, and co-ordinating the Q&A sessions for the many panels.
The THE Global Sustainable Development Congress brings together global thought-leaders and innovators to discuss urgent issues and solutions to the sustainability emergency. It provides a call to action for global universities to pivot their educational, research, innovation and research programs towards tangible environmental and sustainability outcomes.
The TKS students were able to network with world class speakers from industry, academia, Government and NGOs, and also hosted their own stand in the Expo – showcasing the projects they are working on, aligned to the UN SDGs.
