As they prepare for presenting their own science projects at the WEP 2024 Science Fair in January, the Grade 8 students got to meet and be inspired by KAUST university students and postdocs. Saidkhodzha Nematulloev, Marti Roca, Omar Alkhazragi, Aliyah Fakim, Amjad Aljagthmi, Shiqin Xu, and Inas Zein talked to the students about their own science journey – from an interest in High School to pursuing their undergraduate and graduate studies, and the area of science they are currently studying and researching at KAUST.
The Grade 8 students were able to choose the areas of science and research that most interested them and then spend time with the university student or postdoc to learn more. Most of the presenters also brought along some props so the TKS students could get ‘hands-on’ with the research.
Hopefully, chatting with the university students and postdocs has inspired our school students as they choose their own science project topic!
