Our Saudi WISER interns were invited by the UNDP in Saudi Arabia to present at the celebrations to mark UN International Youth Day on Saturday, August 12.
10 interns traveled to Riyadh to take part in the day’s activities. The group had worked hard to produce a short movie that showcases how KAUST youth are getting involved in sustainability research and initiatives across the university and community, and acting as change agents to ensure that KAUST contributes to the UN SDGs.
It was a full-on day, but a tired group arrived back at KAUST late on Saturday feeling that they had put KAUST on the map with the audience at the event. They received great feedback about what the youth are doing here, and also what an amazing place KAUST looks like to live and work!
